ShreeNathji Gaushala-Pragna Shah anubhuti

2003 September

ShreeNathji’s most favorite place, His Personal gaushala at Nathdwara, is situated about 3 km from His Haveli. Surrounded by hills it is a very picturesque place; with a lot of open grounds. It was planned and built with the Haveli. It houses about 2000 cows with a staff of 50 gwals to take care of them.

The head gwal changes every year.

Any visit to ShreeNathji is incomplete without a visit here. It is as important as the Mandir.

Shreeji likes staying here, in the midst of His beloved ‘Gaumata’, as He calls them. Shreeji’s Personal cow is Lalitha today; her mother was Rukmani who died about 5-6 years back.

This personal cow is in direct lineage of the original herd of the Nand-vansh. She had appeared in Jatipura when the Ardh-Bhuja of Shreeji first appeared from the Giriraj Govardhan. The cow who appeared to feed milk to ShreeNathji on His Urdhav Bhuja is known as Dhumer. She belonged to Saddu Pande and Naro (who played with Shreeji daily). This cow also recognized her hreeKrishn and would go on top of the Giriraj Govardhan daily and feed her milk to Shreeji. (Cows can feel the vibrational levels and the fragrance of their loving Krishn Bhagvan more than any of us humans). Since then the hierarchy has been maintained very strictly, and the cow came here to Nathdwara when Shreeji moved here from Mathura.

At this present time, Lalitha is called the wish fulfilling cow, the Kamdhenu Gai; any wish whispered in her ear after doing the athada in full faith will give guaranteed results. The whispered words are received directly by Shreeji Himself in the presence of His devoted bhakt - gurushree; provided the shraddha is there!!

I was here first time with gurushree in February-2005, did the athada under his guidance and supervision. The athada done in the presence of a Sadhya is totally clearing of all negativity of the past, our spine crosses totally through the surya bindu of this sacred cow.

(This is the extract from the book Zero 2 Dot – Chapter-6)

This instance is from the year 2003 September, when Sudhir bhai was in Nathdwara with his wife Pragna bhabhi for two days. It was soon after Janmashtami the day they were supposed to return back to Bombay, after the mangala darshans. ShreejiBaba’s Gaushala is located about 2 km away from the mandir. On the way to the airport Sudhir bhai suddenly asked Chimanbhai, the driver and who is also a sevak at the mandir to stop at the Gaushala. He was surprised as there was no program to stop and they would be delayed for the flight. Here they two were to witness an amazing spectacle.

The cow Sudhir bhai had gone to visit was ‘Rukmani’, the main cow of Nand Vansh, whose milk goes straight for Thakurji’s seva. When he inquired about her found that she was very sick and in no position to even get up. (This cow always without fail came from where ever she was, when Sudhir bhai entered the Gaushala in any of his visits, she just smelled his fragrance and came out to greet him. He also is very fond of her and always spends time with Rukma, as he lovingly calls her)

So he went up to where she was and gave her the darshan of the “Energies” which manifested instantly. The cow looked up to him with tears in her eyes, did darshans, and placed her head at his feet in love and surrender, as if she had been waiting for his moment.

Pragna bhabhi and Chiman bhai were very surprised as no one had any idea Rukmani was so sick. Any way even after spending so much time here they did reach the airport on time and returned safely. Three days later they received news of Rukmani passing away. She never got up from the spot where she had laid her head in surrender to Thakurji’s energy.

This may appear very ordinary unless one goes into it deeper.

- HOW did Sudhir bhai know she was sick, as there was no previous program of stopping there; the distance between the mandir and Gaushala is hardly few km.

- WHO informed him in those few km, to stop and give darshan to the cow?

- WHO wanted to give darshan to the ailing cow, and WHOSE darshan did she receive and THROUGH WHOM?

- She was ShreejiBaba’s Personal cow, and we all know how devoted Shreeji is to His cows, so how close Sudhir bhai must be to Shreeji?

- How does the cow (jeev) recognize the Divine energy, when we as humans miss out the Divine flow?

-The “Energies” which manifested there instantly were ‘WHOSE’ energy giving darshan to the sick cow?

There are some unexplained going on of the mysterious forces of God all around us, if we care to try and understand it with the right bhao and feelings.

Also I have seen and experienced how, on important occasions when completing some kadl or seva, the time factor becomes unexplainable. The in between time just disappears and things are completed on time; for example – if the required time is 45 minutes, at times it happens the journey is completed in less than half the time. Even after reaching the destination the driver is astonished as to how did he reach in the limited time? At such times if I question Sudhir bhai, he answers with another question, “Who do you think was actually driving”?

My MahaGurushree - Thakurjee ShreeNathji ki Jai Ho!

Many times I feel Shreeji likes to be away from His mandir, and He spends time with us at the gaushala. This I can feel at times when His sweet voice tells us about some incident at His gaushala, and how much He loves being here with His beloved Gaumata, as He calls them.

Jai ShreeNathji Prabhu
